Day 179 - Our first showing

Again my house looks AMAZING!  I really like it looking so nice but it is impossible with two tornados going in opposite directions.  The showing was at 8 - 8:30 pm, so we loaded up the kids and dogs and decided to get some sushi to-go and head to the park.  The game plan was to just let the kids play and run around, eat our sushi and share a beer.  Somewhere in there we forgot that we had two dogs with us, who were dying to explore and our kids are one and two, which means total and full supervision and interaction.  I am not sure what dreamworld we were in while we made our initial plan but reality set in real quickly.  And by quickly I mean the minute we pulled up to the park.  The dogs went nuts and Laila and Jai were at the same caliber as the dogs.

Forty five minutes later we loaded everyone back up and Manik and I looked at eachother and just started laughing.  What kind of dreaming idiots are we!

All in all it was a success (expect of the dump Saahib and the pop-a-squat Laila pulled).  Good times were had by all!

No word on how the showing went, but I will keep you all posted!

Day 178 - Good ol' fashion fun!

(Sorry for the late post, blogger was down last night and it wouldn't let me post.)

This morning after picking up the house we headed to the park.  It has been a long time since we have been to the park, it has been 100 degrees everyday so usually our only destination is the pool.  But we felt like being crazy today and  changing things up.  The kids spent more time exploring the park grounds than actually playing on the playground.  It was fun to see them just enjoying nature.  Jai definitely enjoys water and dirt over any toy from the store!

I think they were watching some birds.

Always looking for an adventure...
and dirt!
Ahh yes, here it is!

After the park we had some lunch and then went down for naps....which nobody felt like taking especially Missy Mae.  Funny how when I actually have something planned to do during nap time they choose not to nap.  Despite skipping a nap Laila was in a great mood and we broke out the kiddy pool in the backyard and cooled off.  That girl loves being naked!
Laila is styling Jai's hair with dirty water from the dog bowl.  Jai wouldn't have it any other way!  I'm telling you dog food is this kids favorite snack!  He comes running to the kitchen when I am filling the dog bowls with food.  You'd think he was starving or something!
Oh hello :)

Lastly, our handyman brought us some corn, and acorn squash from his garden this morning.  We had it for dinner and it was amazing!!  I tell you there is nothing like homegrown veggies.  I had never had acorn squash before, I just sliced it in half, deseeded it, and put a slice of butter and spoonful of brown sugar in the cavity.  Slipped it in the microwave for 10 minutes and it was heaven!!  I will be having that again soon!

Day 177 - BIG NEWS

Were MOVING!  It is official, the sign in the yard and our house is the cleanest it has ever been!  I am pretty sure keeping the house clean and ready for showings is going to be the most stressful part of this entire process.

Denver, Colorado is our new destination city!  I can't wait to see the mountains, hike some trails and live in a new time zone!  Manik is leaving Papa John's and starting a new franchise called Genghis Grill.  Genghis Grill is a Mongolian BBQ with a healthy twist.  I am extremely proud of Manik for making this change.  He has always dreamed big and it takes a lot of guts to follow ones dreams.  I know he will make these restaurants a huge success and we will all cheer him on!

We have found a rental house and I am so happy to tell you that it is HUGE!  I am pretty sure we will only be able furnish about 1/8 of it.  But this will give us some room to breath and try out that theory I was willing to test mentioned here.  I am sad I will be leaving my garden but hopefully we can start a new one at our rental home.

We are planning on moving August 1st so that gives us one more month in ol' OKC...tear.  We have made many wonderful friends, memories, found restaurants we love, created a home we will miss dearly and most of all be leaving family.

Our home is your home so please come and visit!

In other news, here are some picks of Laila climbing the tree in the front yard with a little help from Dad.

CHEESE!!  Jai has started to talk and repeat words!!  This week has been a huge leap in his speaking skills!

Day 176 - Lord grant me the patience

Today the kids were at moms day out and while I love my time "off", I',m never quite "off".  While they were out of the house I do all the things I can't do with them around, at least do them quickly!  I was ready for a nap when it comes time to pick them up and then the craziness just starts up again.  By this evening my patience were shot and I was on a short fuse.  It didn't help that they were exhausted from a late night the night before, and a short nap at school.  I think we were all a little overtired.  These are the days I just ask God for a little more patience and a quick break.

This evening Laila was going to the restroom and taking a much longer time than usual and was very quiet, all signs of disaster!  Sure enough Manik caught her with her pants down, literally!  She burst into tears because she knew she was in big trouble, but we couldn't help from cracking a few smiles so didn't know whether we were all going to just laugh this off or throw her in time-out.  Her punishment was giving up her baby for one night.  She didn't seem to miss baby all that much, my guess is she found her other two identical babies in her crib!

You can't see it but the toilet seat is cover in soap.

In other news, just wanted to give a shout out to my amazing mother-in-law!  You have moxy lady!  We are so proud of you!  To help celebrate we had a crab leg feast in your honor!  Love you lots!

Cheers,

Heidi

Day 175 - More ranch please...

This morning we went to the pool and we had it all to ourselves almost the whole time.  Laila is so much more confident in the water and loves hopping around and putting her head under the water and holding her breath. She took baby with us today and gave baby several swim lessons, it was really cute.  After swimming for awhile we had lunch.  The kids love eating lunch at the pool because it means they get to eat french fries with ranch!  They both LOVE ranch dressing!

As you can tell, Jai Jai adores it and sometimes likes to wear it!

Day 173 - Chocolate Mud Cookies

This morning after watering the garden there was some water puddles and mud puddles for the kids to occupy themselves in.  I would peek out the window at them periodically and they seemed to be having a grand time!

Laila kept telling me she was making chocolate cookies and would roll little mud balls and then squash them flat!  It I hadn't know they were made of mud I might have been interested, from a distance they didn't look half bad!

It just amazes me that the outdoors, water and mud never seems to bore them!  It's the small pleasures in life!

Happy Chocolate Mud Cookies to everyone!

Day 172 - Our home

This is our home!  I love our house and if there was a way to make it grow I would be thrilled.

When Manik moved into this house he thought he would only have it for a few years and then move on....oh how life has changed since then.  I moved in shortly after and then came baby girl, followed by baby boy and then lastly by our large 10 1/2 size shoe boy.  To say the least we are bursting at the seams.  But I wouldn't have it any other way.

I firmly believe that small home means a close family.  In a small house you are forced to work out your problems, there are no corners you can shrink into for long.  You are forced to pass each other in the halls, or the bathroom or the kitchen or the living room or.....you get the point. Now maybe I hold firm to this theory because we live in a small home, but I would just like to say I am willing to test this theory in a tad bit larger home.

Cheers to the houses we call our homes!

P.S. Pip skipped town in the middle of the night, you just can't keep a travelin' man tied down!

Day 171 - Pip and Baldies

This morning while we were visiting with a neighbor a sweet stray dog wandered up to us.  We brought him home and put him in the backyard while I called animal services.  I guess animal services was extremely busy because Pip, that is what I named him, is still with us.  He is soooo friendly and really well behaved around the kids.  I didn't let them around him very much but the small time they were near each other it went well.  I think Pip would make some family very happy.  He looks very thin and needs some care from a vet.  He looks like he has lived on the street for some time but I think he was definitely house broken at some point in his life.  I know we can't keep him but I pray he finds a happy home.  If anyone is looking for a dog or know someone who is looking for a dog please let me know.  I am calling two "no kill shelters" tomorrow so let me know asap.

Isn't he sweet, he even has a smile on his face when he sleeps!

Pip relaxing in the shade.

In other news Manik came home this evening looking like Jai!  Peas in a pod I tell ya!

Day 170 - Going to the Zoo!

This morning we headed to the zoo.  Once we got there we headed towards the kids area for a snack, juice box and story time.  The book was about a red hen who does all the work and the other farm animals all laze around.  It was really cute and after the story was done the zoo person brought out a real red hen for all the kids to pet.  That was followed by a craft and then we were off to see all the other animals!

A few of our favirotes were the elephants, there is a new baby!  She was adorable!  We also really like the lion, who was roaring for us.  He was soooo loud!  It was amazing and then our last favorite was the giraffes.  They are so beautiful and elegant!

We met the Keller's at the zoo so we had company when looking at all the wonderful animals!  It is so much more fun when you have friends to share the experience with!

Day 169 - Blog by Laila

Hello all, Laila here.

Here are a few pictures that I took today with Mama's camera.  She loves it when I walk around the house and snap pics of my favorite things!

This is Baby, she is sleeping so be very quiet.  She likes lots and lots of blankies.

Here is my doggy, BoBo.  My Daddy calls him Poor Bastard, I think it has to do with the cone he is stuck wearing.

Mama gets very mad at Daddy when he calls Bo Bo a Poor Bastard, I like to repeat Daddy just to get him in more trouble.

My Daddy, he is always telling us how it is.

There is Jai Jai, he loves driving in my car!

Here is a great shot of my toes, mom painted them purple.  She painted Jai's too!

Peace out peeps!

Day 167 - Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers day to all the wonderful fathers out there.  Your children, young or old are lucky to have you in their lives.

As for our Father's Day celebration, Manik went golfing with a few other Dads and then met us at the Keller's house for a grill out!  The kids had a wonderful time playing in the Keller's play room and snacking on tons of goodies.  Manik enjoyed his golf and amazingly he didn't blow away in the Oklahoma wind.  When we got home it was naptime for all and then dinner and more play.  It was a great day, thanks Manik for being such a wonderful Daddy and loving husband!  I love you!

Manik, Laila and Jai before Manik leaves for golf.  Jai Jai wasn't having any of it!

 Cheese!

When one smiles the other does not...

I guess we will have to work on that!

Jai Jai LOVED the Keller's sand and water play table.  It kept him occupied for a LONG time!

Aren't those sneaker adorable!  I love them!

It was hot out there!
