Day 209 - Here's looking at you!

Tomorrow is our last day at the pool for us before we leave OKC! Boo hoo!  We have thoroughly enjoyed playing in the water, it has been a blast watching Laila and Jai improve their swimming skills.  Gaillardia you will be missed!!

As a side note, I have changed the format for comments.  I hope this is easier for you all!  I love your comments, they make blogging so gratifying!

Day 207 - Boxes and fun pics

I refuse to buy moving boxes so I hunted around and found the best source of boxes....OLD NAVY!! I love Old Navy, I love their children's clothes and their tank tops and lately their customer service!  They even came through big time on moving boxes.  They get shipments in three times a week and have tons of boxes that would just end up in the trash.  I have made three trips and this is the booty we came home with!!

Pretty impressive!  

This is the love I get for about 45 minutes after Jai wakes up from his afternoon nap.  We just sit on the couch and cuddle while I catch up on my HGTV design shows!  Not a bad way to start the late afternoon!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!  That is his middle name!

This evening when I was making dinner Laila comes up to me and asks me if I can help her put on this dress so she can wear something pretty!  Arjun came to her rescue and helped her get all "pretty"!  The dress looks adorable but one small tiny little thing doesn't seem right...oh right, it is size 18m.  Only three sizes to small.  The bottom of the dress is up to her rear end. 

Yes, and notice those shoes, my mom brought them for her.  She LOVES them.  They take her 20 minutes to put on and she WILL NOT let anyone help her.  Thanks Grandma!  Love you!

And last but not least, the babies loving that their big brother is back!  No one make them smile more!!

Day 207 - House Showings

This evening we had another house showing.  We have been really lucky so far that our house has shown as much as it has, especially since it is so hot outside.  The kids have become accustomed to me cleaning like crazy and then shooing them out of the house to drive around the block.  Of course Jai likes to make it a little interesting for me, so for every thing I clean up and he makes one mess.  It is kind of like one in, one out at a bar...except without the alcohol.

Day 206 - New home

Manik is in Denver today nailing down a few last details.  He did a walk-through of our new rental home and it went really well!  The new house so tons of space and storage!  We will also have a guest bedroom for anyone who wants to come visit!  The neighborhood has tennis courts, a huge pool and a basketball court, not to mention an amazing walking trail.  An extra bonus is that Manik's first store is only a five minute walk from the house!  I can't believe how lucky we got.

Day 204 - The lips and bed

I love watching Jai investigate and explore.  He gets so serious and you can just see his little mind working so hard to put it all together!  When he gets in this mode he sticks his lips out.  It is just precious!

Ready for bed!  Of course it was still four hours before they finally drifted off to sleep!

Day 202 - Good times in OKC

The past two evening's I have gone out with friends from my old life.  I miss my Chesapeake gang so much!  Wednesday night I had sushi with my good friend Amber, she is an amazing person who faces life and all its hardhships with a brave face.  I have learned a great deal from her and I am proud to call her my friend.  


Then last night I went to dinner with the girls who have taken over my role since I left CHK.  It feels so good to hear stories of the day to day sagas of my old job.  It makes me miss it so much, I miss the camaraderie but not the workplace politics...and then I think about my job now and I wouldn't trade it for the world.  We had a wonderful dinner and then went on to play shuffleboard at a bar nearby.  My competitive side came out in full force!  I love shuffleboard!  I have not partied like that in ages and I paid for it dearly today. 

This morning Laila went with me to get my hair colored and get a trim herself.  She was soooo good at the salon, she just sat on her stool and ate her snacks and chatted with us.  She is my sweet darling girl!  How did I get soo lucky!

Day 195 - Pool-time with the Kellers

We headed to the pool with the Keller's this morning.  We had a wonderful time escaping from the heat by totally submerging ourselves in the water!  Laila and Jai are turning into tan little water bugs!  They love playing, splashing and jumping around in the water!

Day 194 - Reality Check

This afternoon when I went to pick the kids up from MDO I realized that they will only be going once more before we move.  I came about this close to breaking down right there.  It makes me so sad to be leaving all the wonderful people we have met in OKC.  I think these are going to be some tearful weeks for me.  I don't mind small chnages but big changes always turn me into a mess...I feel an emotional roller-coaster coming my way. 

I know that many wonderful things are waiting for us in Denver but we are leaving so many wonderful things here too. 

Not to mention family, I have lived either with my older brother or a few miles away since I graduated college and I didn't realize how much I take his presence for granted.  I will miss him so much and I know my kids will too.

Day 197 - A good time had by all!

We have arrived back from the lake from our long weekend family trip!  We had a wonderful time and I am so glad we all got together!  The kids had a blast and I think the adults did too!

Laila and Jai were so excited to be going on vacation, and they were really thrilled when they got to spend three days outside, playing in the pool, hanging with the cousins.  We made dinner every night and it was great each time and topped off with smores of course!  

I can't wait till next years trip!

Day 193 - Grandma Sue Sue

My mom came in town this afternoon shortly after the kids fell asleep for their afternoon nap.  They were sooo happy to wake up and find her at our house.  Laila is so excited because tomorrow we are headed to Grand Lake for a family vacation.  Us, my brothers' families and my mom will all be enjoying the lake and all that it has to offer for the weekend.  Not sure if I will have intenret connection but if I do I will be sure to update the blog!

This evening before bed Laila asked Grandma to read her a the bedtime book, it was so sweet watching the two of them!

Day 192 - Good Men

These are the two loves of my life.

Jason my big brother has helped me out is so many ways I can not even express how much he means to me.  When I was in college and needed extra money to pay bills Jason was the one I called.  If I was ever to get into trouble or needed help or just simply wanted to talk Jason was who I callled.  He can always find humor in even the most serious of situations.  Humor is a wonderful thing and without it I don't think I could have handled some of the challenges Life has thrown my way. 

As for my wonderful, thoughtful and loving husband.  I would be lost without Manik.  I love that man with all my heart and am so thankful everyday that I have found such a hardworking and honest man, not to mention a wonderful father and friend.
