Favorite iphone pics

A couple of weeks ago I had a scare and thought I had lost my phone.  I wasn't worried about losing my contacts or apps but terrified of the idea of losing over 1800 pics of  Laila and Jai as babies to toddlers!  So I finally took the responsible route and uploaded them to my computer. Looking through the pictures was a long trip down memory lane and made me realize only one thing, okay maybe two.  One, I definitely want another baby.  For those of you close to me, you know this is nothing new.  Second, I can't believe how quickly they have grown into walking, talking, opinionated and hilarious little kids. Here is a snapshot of my favorites...

He calls this shirt his fireman shirt.  He got the idea that the little logo on the front was a fireman, if you asked him what his name was when he was wearing this shirt he would tell you "Fireman".

Day 147 - Day in the Life

I swear every night these babies get a bath.  Scrubbed clean and smelling like roses!

In the morning they look beautiful and fresh...and then I go and make cream of wheat for breakfast.  That is the first nail in the coffin!  That stuff dries like cement on their faces, hands and clothes.  I scrub them clean for the first time of the day we head outside to water the garden. I know going into this that Jai is definitely going to end up wet and covered in mud.  This is followed by his first outfit change of the day!  After a short outing or a short walk around the neighborhood we make our way back to the house for lunch.  Laila almost always stays pretty clean and manages not to spill to much.  Jai is mastering feeding himself with a spoon and is doing a very good job at it!  He does not spill very much but once he is done and if I don't clear his place setting quick enough he starts getting creative and the leftovers soon end up on the floor and in his hair!

Now this brings me to the last part of our day, Laila usually sleeps longer than Jai so Jai and I have about an hour or so together to play and hang out.  This usually leads us back outside to water the front yard flowers.  This is most definitely when he loses his clothes for sure and ends up in nothin' but a diaper.  He LOVES every minute of any water play or being outside!

After Laila wakes up and we play some more we head in to make dinner and by that time the effort to keep them (Jai) clean is all but gone!  I figure you are only young once and if that means you get to run around with food in your hair and on your face then go for it!

Day 47 - Birthday shirt and the dogs water bowl

Well Missy Mae is turning two soon and I am so excited for her!  She is now more aware and understands what birthday parties are all about.  We have gone to a few of her friends b-day parties and she get soooo excited!  She will talk about so and so's party all day and then we get to the party and she freezes.  You would think by looking at her that we dragged her to it!  She gets some serious deer in the headlights look.  After a few minutes of taking in the situation and sizing everyone up she relaxes and settles in for a good time, thank goodness.

We are doing a very small party this year, just family and our good friend Tim.  The theme is Strawberry Shortcake.  Of course Laila has no idea who that is, but I love Miss Shortcake so there you go!  I really wanted to get her a cute shirt for her birthday party, but I put it off too long so decided to just make one.  So while the kiddos were napping this afternoon I made her shirt, I love the way it turned out!

This afternoon while Laila was napping Jai had some time to investigate the backyard deck and all the fun things it holds!  First he quickly made his way over to the dogs water bowl (always a big hit) and then to Saahib's tennis balls.  Now he was really a happy little boy, Saahib was a little put out and didn't quite appreciate the fact that the little boy who lives in his house wouldn't throw the ball, but rather would hold them really close and try to chew on them.

 So here is an adorable sequence of events I caught on my phone of Jai trying to "drink" the dogs water bowl.  Needless to say he ended up soaked and sooo dirty but he enjoyed every minute of it!
