Day 165 - Early Father's Day Presents and Baby with Gun

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am terrible at keeping presents a secret for more than about five minutes!  So when Laila and Jai came home from school yesterday with Father's Day presents we made sure he opened them the minute he walked in the door!

 Jai gave Daddy a picture holder with his toe prints on it!

Laila gave daddy a decorated box with painted shells on it!

Also in other news, Wilder has taken up the sport of playing with guns.  We Okies like to encourage gun play at a very early age.

Day 163 - Baldy

It is been in Manik's mind for some time that he wanted to shave Jai's head.  It took me awhile to wrap my head around losing my sweet baby's soft perfect brown hair but tonight I finally gave in and we took out the trimmer.  Jai's was so good the whole time, by the end he got a little fed up...totally understandable. 

So this morning I woke up to my sweet baby looking like this...

And put him to bed looking like this!!!

Those eyes are FULL of MISCHIEF!!

I was cleaning out our front closet today and she saw her Halloween costume and had to try it on!  She probably wore it for about two hours, if it wasn't the main part, it was the hat or the booties.  Talk about constant entertainment!

Day 143 - Swings

After Arjun's graduation we headed over to Jason and Elizabeth's house to pick up the kiddos.  Since it was such a nice day out we walked over to the park.  Laila and Jai LOVE the swings at the park.  I got a few pictures of them in action. 

Laila loves going super high, she is so daring in a swing!

P.S. My cousins just had to put down their sweet mastif, Moby.  He was a gentle giant and he will be missed.  Moby we love you and hope you are enjoying Doggy Heaven.

Day 137 - Playing outside and my garden

Today was beautiful!  We had very little wind, which is uncommon for OKC and it was not humid at all.  After a quick run this morning we headed out to the backyard to play for awhile.  Tuesday's are our slow days so we just mosey around the house or yard and don't rush anywhere.  The kids had a good time helping me water and playing on their playset. 

I think they soaked up more water than my flowers did!

My garden is coming along nicely.  The snow peas are almost all gone, we have feasted on them for about two weeks.  They were delicious and enjoyed by everyone.  Next year I want to plant several more!

Right now my squash, zucchini, and tomatoes are growing quickly!  I can't wait to bite into a fresh homegrown tomato!  

I was reading up on zucchini and squash and was interested to learn that there are female and male flowers.  The male flowers bloom first and the bees and ladybugs pollinate the female flower that holds the fruit. Truly amazing!

Day 131 - Nastics

This morning Laila had a bit of a recital at her gymnastics class.  She did a wonderful job and Manik caught most of it on video.  I hope you enjoy! Each link is about 45 - 1minute long.  They are all cute but Jumping Jai Jai is adorable!

Day 123 - Getting ready to visit Grandma

This afternoon, after we picked Saahib up from the vet(turns out he just had some intestinal agitation and is A-OK!!!)  we headed home to pack up our life so we can go visit Grandma and attend my cousin Katie's wedding.  From the moment Manik brought the suitcases home from storage Jai and Laila were obsessed with them!  They were completely entertained while I gathered this and that from each room.  I feel like I am packing up our everyday lives and stuffing into two suitcases.  I know it is going to be a pain putting it all back!

 I am really looking forward to visit because on Thursday we are going to Tanganyika Wildlife Park.  This park is AMAZING, you get to pet Red Kangoroos, see Giraffes inches away from you and feed Lemurs cranberries from you hands!  It is really an amazing park and a wonderful experience.  We went there last summer but Laila and Jai were still quite young, I think this time Laila will understand much more of what is going on around her.

Day 110 - On your Mark, get set, go!

Tonight after dinner and Jai was down Laila and I went for walk.  I had only intended to go a few houses down but it quickly turned into a quarter of a mile.  She wanted to run the whole way...we ran a few blocks and then after a little while we started to say "On your mark, get set.....and GO!  We would get in the "on your mark" position, our feet on a crack, crouched down, arms in the sprinting position and I would just wait for her to say "GO".  She would so tickled and run and run!  It was so funny.  Oh, did I mention she was in her pajamas with the feet attached to them.  No shoes, just her pj's!  I am sure we made quite a sight!

Laila had an Easter egg hunt at school today so once we got home she was having a

good time carrying around her basket!  Kinda like she is walking the catwalk!

 And what one year old boy doesn't need a 12 foot long PVC pipe to play with!  Jai Jai loved having a big stick to swing around.

Day 108 - Good Day

We had such a nice day today.  Took the kids to the doctor because I thought they might have ear infections, but good news!  No ear infections, just a old fashion common cold. 

After the doctor we ate lunch and we all went down for a nap!  I love naps!

When Arjun got home we chatted for a bit and then we started on dinner.  Laila asked to eat her dinner outside, the weather was wonderful and I couldn't see why not.  She was in heaven and she actually ate really well, not the norm around here.

Arjun set the little table in front of her and she was all set!

While Laila was eating outside, we hauled Jai's chair into the kitchen while Arjun and I prepped and prepared dinner.  If Jai has entertainment and food in front of him he will just keep on eating!  I never have to worry about that boy eating.  

What a ham!  He has a million funny faces!

But, this smiling face is my favorite!

Day 100 - The nudist colony is growing!

Oh my babies love being nude!  I suppose it must feel so freeing to be able to run around the house and roll around on the rug totally nude!  Oh to be young again!

Day 98 - Jai Jai gives kisses

My sweet lovable and cuddly baby boy has started giving me kisses!  They melt my heart and I can not get enough of them!  I have not pictures to prove that he loves his mama!

He has also begun to really like Saahib!  He really likes to sit next to him and pat him so gently, it is adorable!

I also forgot to mention that both the kiddos had their yearly check-ups this week. 

Jai is 75% in height, weight and head circumference.  Big boy weighs 23.9 lbs and is 30 inches long

Laila is 50% in height, weight and head circumference, Missy weighs 29 lbs and 34 inches long

They are both in great health!

We are so blessed!

Day 87 - Sick Day, but it doesn't look like it!

Laila is feeling much better but Jai Jai just doesn't bounce back the way normal folks do.  His immune system is a little weaker and his asthma immediately flairs up when even the common cold looks at him.

Although Jai was feeling under the weather he was still entertaining as usual!

Arjun decided Jai needed a pretty!

Day 75 - Best Picture Ever!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!  Hope you all had a very lucky and fortunate day!  

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my Mom.  She had a very successful sinus surgery and is feeling really well today!  No pain and no drainage at all! Couldn't ask for better results!

On another note, sorry we didn't get a post up yesterday.  Manik was exhausted and fell asleep shortly after the kids went down.

So to make up for yesterday I captured one of the cutest pics of Jai today!  That boy loves the camera about as much as Laila dislikes it!

It warmed up quite a bit today so by dinnertime the house was pretty warm.  I took Laila's dress off and she immediately reminded me of one person!  Mowgli from The Jungle Book.    When Arjun was Laila's age they used to call him Mowgli so if Mowgli ever had a sister Laila was spittin image of her!

 Their facial expressions even are the same!
