February 27, 2012 - Birthday Review

For our birthday's my favorite people came in town: my mom, Jason and baby (who is not a baby anymore) Wilder!  They arrived shortly after nap time on Friday and we were ready!  Wilder has grown so much and is no longer a baby, rather he is a opinionated and fully body boy!  It was really nice seeing Wilder just hang with Laila and Jai.  They tore up the toys and had a blast!

We had a blast over the weekend!  I have to say that it is pretty special to be celebrating mine and Laila's birthday one day apart.  It was truly special!

Friday night we celebrated my birthday. Mom, Jason, Manik and I went out to dinner, we had a wonderful time!  We went out for a drink after and played some skeet ball and of course some shuffleboard (my favorite)!  It was perfect, just wish it could have lasted longer :)

Mr. Wilder was very happy to play with his cousins and of course their toys!

Yep, nothing but mischief in those eyes!

Saturday was Laila's birthday and lucky Laila received a few presents throughout the day, she was over the moon!  Her first and favorite present was an outfit for her baby.  Baby is Laila's EVERYTHING!

Daddy and his big 3 yr old!!

of course Momma didn't want to be left out!

 Little brother enjoying the festivities!

Laila and her friends, from left to right...Jack, Carter, Laila, Ryan, Jai and Arjun.
Wilder was there but couldn't quite make it in.

And she turns THREE!!!

God I love her so much!  She makes me smile and laugh from the gut, I am constantly surprised by her wit and charm!  She is sharp as a tack and has the heart of a lion. I am so thankful God gave her to me!

I was so proud of little man, he didn't once get upset when Laila was opening presents.  He just watched and was so excited for her.  He is such a sweet boy!

February 15, 2012 - Love Feast

I do not enjoy going out on Valentines Day, the restaurants are crazy busy, they have set menus and I think it is overrated.  Instead we want to be all together and have a wonderful meal together.  For our Valentines Feast we had filet with garlic lemon butter, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus...it was all amazing!  My most favorite meal yet!  To top it off Laila and made chocolate covered strawberries.  Laila is a wonderful help and she did an great job!  I have to say our dinner was wonderful and the company couldn't be beat!

I thought it was so funny he thought the trash can made such a good place to sit!  CHEESE!

Monkey Man, don't you just love his outfit!

Winding up!

 And the delivery!

February 11, 2012 - Things that make me happy

I think the most simple thing that makes me happy is my family.  Sometimes I am just amazed that I am a mom, not to mention a mom of three.  While they challenge me daily and sometimes minute by minute the rewards I get from them are limitless.  I think the little kids sense of humor is truly so the thing that amazes me, yet Arjun makes me laugh all the time.  He is so witty and thoughtful.  The things that come out of their mouths are just priceless.  My family would not be complete without Manik.  He is my knight in shining armor who gives me his unconditional love, patience and understanding.  My true partner, and a wonderful daddy.  I would be lost without him.

Just one example of the things that make me smile.  Jai getting his hands on Laila's lipstick.
Needless to say he is beautiful!

February 10, 2012 - Frozen Yogurt = Heaven

This afternoon we picked Arjun up from his orthodontist appt and didn't feel quite like going home so we made a detour at TCBY!  The kids and I got small bowls and treated ourselves to a little happy snack!  Laila and Jai were over the moon and enjoyed every single bite.  I did not hear a word from Laila from the minute she sat down until the last bite was gone.  That girl LOVES her ice cream!  Jai was pretty quiet too, except for when he would get a brain freeze and have to take  break!  It was hysterical to watch them.

Very Happy Camper

Taking a break...

Back to work....

Getting every last morsel!

February 8, 2012 - Sun

Photo Challenge Day 8: Sun

I took this picture on my way to Kansas a few weeks ago.  I just love how you see the sun setting and the road behind us.

I have a strong love for the sun, I can not wait for the summer and laying by the pool!

February 7, 2012 - Button

Photo Challenge #7: Button
I am in the process of making Laila's 3rd birthday shirt and she is so excited!  My favorite part is the button I put on the cupcake to look like a cherry!  I think the shirt is adorable, I am so excited for her to wear it on her birthday!

February 6, 2012 - Meal & Phone time

Photo Challenge Day 6
This afternoon I was so proud I got our dinner ready and put in the crock pot and then laid down with the kiddos for a nap, I was spent from the long weekend!  So when I woke up and I surprised not to smell dinner going, ummmm....that would be because I forgot to plug in the crockpot!  Those of you who know me are not in the least surprised to hear this news, nor was my husband.  Luckily the dinner was a chicken meal and not a beef stew that takes 8 hours!  This recipe was called Angel Pasta and it was very good.  My men had now complaints!  I found the recipe at Cleverly Inspired, a fellow blogger.  I strongly suggest trying it!  To top off the amazing dinner I got a crazy idea to make oatmeal raisin cookies.  I bake maybe once every three years or so!  Actually what happened was a few nights ago I promised the kids we could make cookies.  For christmas someone had given me a jar of cookie ingredients and all you have to do is add the liquids.  Well I did and they were AWFUL!  Arjun was not impressed as his mom is an amazing baker.  So I felt I had something to prove.  So that would be my true motivation for baking cookies tonight.  Luckily they were a millions times better than my previous cookie attempt!

Angel Pasta

Oatmeal Cookies!

Also wanted to add this super cute pic of Laila on the phone with her cousin a few days ago.  She kept putting her hand on her hip and telling Jillian how she just enrolled her babydoll into gymnastics!  Cracked me up!  Of course the fact she is just in underpants tops it all off!  Jai Jai is just chilling snacking on goldfish watching the snow come down!

February 4 & 5th Stranger & 10am/pm

Yesterday evening Manik and I went out to watch the KU/MU game at a local KU bar with a few friends!  We had a great time despite the fact that KU lost.  We left the KU bar and went a great hole-in-the-wall bar nearby where Manik put his pool shark days to use!  I also saw the perfect stranger to capture!  I didn't have the nerve to take a picture with him so I had Betsy do it for me!!

This guy was the doorman and professional hippy!  Rock-n-Roll baby!!  Peace out!

As for 10am this morning it came and went without me noticing!  And it turns out I will be hitting the hay before 10pm so it looks like this photo shot is a miss!

One tired mama!

February 3, 2012 - Words

We try to read books everyday after naps.  The kids are fresh but still a little groggy from their naps so it is nice to time to sit on the couch and wake up slowly!

Jai Jai loves sitting on my lap and just listening and listening.  His favorite books is about trucks, he LOVES trucks!  As a result I have now memorized ALL the different types of trucks....cement trucks, roller, cranes, dump truck, bull dozer..and on and on! Its such a boy thing!

This book is both of their favorites!  They love that fact that he is MAD!  I think it is also a nice tool for them to know that being mad is ok and that everyone feels that way sometimes.

Laila really likes this book right now, of course her daddy really likes reading this to her!  Laila unlike Jai will not sit on my lap but likes to sit beside us and listen.  She remembers the words to each book very quickly and will always finish the last part of any sentence for me.  Hopefully she has a better memory that me growing up!

I take the kids to the library once a week for storytime and they love picking out a wide array of books.  I am always so happy that they will take some much time to sit still and listen to all the different stories!  If anything it just feeds their imaginations which are growing more and more wild everyday!

February 3, 2012 - Photo Challenge & Hands

I am so happy it is February!  One step closer to spring and this is also a big birthday month for the Suri's..Mama Ranjna, Laila and I!   It is also the month of LOVE.  Lord knows we needs something  to look forward to during all this dreary cold weather!

I was on one of my favorite blogs last night, www.faith-love-hope.com, and saw she was doing a photo challenge.  I accepted that challenge and am eager to have something to focus on for my blog!  So here is the list of things you will see in February:

Of course, I had my days mixed up and as a result am doing HANDS today!  Tomorrow we'll make up WORDS!

Hands, I love my babies hands.  I love when they hold my hand when crossing the street, I would cross a million streets if it means I get to hold their hands.  Laila's hands are long and lean.  She has the longest fingers, if they are any indication of how tall she is going to be were looking at 6 foot!

Brothers!  Arjun and Jai are 13 years apart!  Isn't that just crazy!  Arjun has hit his huge growth spurt this year and his hands are just the beginning!  He passed me in height early in late summer and his one his way to beat his dad!

Oh Jai Jai, you are my weak spot!  That boy just knows how to turn me into mush!  I LOVE Jai's hands.  They are firm and sturdy, soft just beautiful.  When Jai hold my hand to cross the street, he will only hold one of my fingers, not my whole hand.  He melts my heart!

My hands, bony and wrinkly way before their time!!

Manik's hand, long!  Now we know where Laila and Arjun get it!  Manik has beautiful long strong hands.  Hard working hands that provide for his family and put the roof over our head and food on our table.  God bless those hands.

Those little hands are just so sweet, I just want to kiss them!

Peek - A - Boo! I see you!
