Day 88 - Go Bluuuuueeee!

Well today was a good day!  The babies are doing 100% better AND India beat Pakistan in the 2011 Cricket World Cup Semi-finals!  To say the least Manik was just a tad bit happy and super pumped up!  I was thrilled for him, as I knew this meant a great deal to him.  Because the game is taking place halfway across the wold Manik got up at 3:30am and went over to watch the match with a few buddies of his.  I know he had a wonderful time and I'm so glad he had some friends to cheer, cry and celebrate with.  India plays Sri Lanka for the championship early Saturday morning.  I think Arjun is going to join Manik this time, what a great thing to share with your son.

In other news we had another scare with Saahib.  We thought for sure he swallowed another rock but thankfully he either passed it or just had an upset tummy.  Much to our delight Sabibo (as Arjun lovingly calls him) is feeling 100% as well, and back to his old games.  Oh the life of a dog!

Lastly, our handyman Jerry is adding some much needing shelving and storage to the closet in the babies room.  I am so excited, it has double the amount of clothes I can store in there.  Our intention was to add the shelving and hopefully get rid of the dresser in our room.  I can't wait to have a reading chair and a small side table!  It will be my favorite place in the house!  I take pics of the final product and share with you guys!

Cheers and Go BLUE!!

Day 87 - Sick Day, but it doesn't look like it!

Laila is feeling much better but Jai Jai just doesn't bounce back the way normal folks do.  His immune system is a little weaker and his asthma immediately flairs up when even the common cold looks at him.

Although Jai was feeling under the weather he was still entertaining as usual!

Arjun decided Jai needed a pretty!

Yes! A real smile while looking at the camera!  Missy has come a long way!

Best smile ever from my sweet and sassy girl!
This is the Laila I know and LOVE!!

Hopefully Jai will be back to his old self by the weekend!

XOXO from one tired Mama

Day 86 - Back to work people

Monday, Monday here we go again.  Actually this is going to be a very quiet and calm week....except for the small cough that started yesterday for the babies and has turned into bad cough and breathing treatments that I started today for Jai.

Despite not feeling 100% the kids including Arjun were feeling very silly and making Manik and I roll our eyes repeatedly as well as laugh uncontrollably.

- Laila has made the decision to become a nudist and walk around the house with at least one item of clothing missing.  This afternoon it was her pants and this evening it was her shirt.

- Laila has also taken to telling Arjun off.  He has been totally cut off from kisses, hugs, or any kind words.  Mostly she just tells Arjun "no", to anything.  Poor AJ, the boy just wants a kiss!

- Arjun has rigged up a toddler size basketball hoop on the front door and spent about an hour and half throwing a tennis ball into it.  I suppose whatever keeps the boy busy and totally entertained!

-Jai spent about 25 minutes on the kitchen floor stirring a cup of dog food with a spoon.  The boy is a baker at heart...or he just likes to eat dog food with the pretense of stirring it in a cup!  Poor Bo Bo, he never gets to eat dinner in peace.

It was a wild and crazy night just like every other night in the Suri household.

P.S. Happy Birthday Little Brother!  We miss you and hope you have a wonderful and happy 33rd year!

Day 85 - We are in Mourning

As you might know KU lost to VCU in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.  KU was not playing their best and VCU took total advantage of the situation.  I am so sad to see our season end but there is always next year.

In other sports news India plays Pakistan in the Semifinals of the Cricket World Cup on Tuesday.  This is a huge deal as it only happens every four years.  India has not won the World Cup since 1983.  Manik and his friends and family are very excited so we are hoping India does not follow the same fate as KU.

Day 84 - Happy Birthday Party Jai

We had Jai's 1st birthday party this morning.  We did a brunch party and it was perfect!  Of course the birthday boy was asleep for most of it, but everyone else really enjoyed themselves.  I have found the key to any successful party....balloons.  They make all the kids extremely happy...hats also do the trick.  As long as you have those two items you are set.

Jai loved opening his gifts, his two favorite gifts were a big bouncy ball and a little toy you push and of course it makes a lot of noise.  He is a boy through and through.  It was a bit hard for Laila to resist opening his gifts.

Overall it was a very successful birthday party and I had so much fun watching Jai enjoying the attention.  He is the sweetest thing ever!

Thanks Keller kids for making Jai's birthday so special!

Day 83 - Rock Chalk and fun with Lucy

Lucy came over today for our Friday play date, she and Laila had so much fun!  They played "going to the grocery store for mama" for about an hour.  If we lived in their imaginary world I would now have about a million bananas, cookies and lots of milk.  It was so fun to see them running around the house and backyard just playing their little games.  Today was the first time they really interacted and played together, usually they are playing around each other but not with each other.

This evening Wilder, Jason and Tim came over to watch the KU game. KU played great and we are on to the next round.  Final Four here we come!!  Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!

Just catching butterflies

Day 82 - Just Jai and I

This morning Laila went to school leaving Jai and I home alone.  I love Missy so much, but it is wonderful having Jai all to myself.  The house is also soooo very quiet, I love it!  Jai and I were pleasantly surprised when Daddy came home for lunch, always a treat.  Once we picked Laila up from school it is "go time" again.  By time we had run a few errands and made it back home I was wishing I was back in Mexico sipping on a margarita on the rocks!

My garden is coming along nicely, the broccoli has a little broccoli heads growing on it, and my peas are starting to climb on some bamboo poles we stuck in there today.  My lettuce is coming along nicely and the radishes should be showing their heads in a few weeks.  I really can't wait for the time to plant tomatoes.  I just know they are going to taste amazing!  I will post some pictures tomorrow of our little garden...and the kiddos!

Day 81 - True Love = Outdoors!

Since it has warmed up here in OKC the kids and I have been spending ALOT of time outside.  I love being outside this time of year when it is not too hot and not too cold but just the right temperature.  This morning I decided to paint the ceiling on the front porch.  Originally it was a dark army green and it made the front porch seem dark on even the brightest day.  So now it is a warm cream color that has brightened the front porch immensely.  Now all I need are some comfy chairs and a cool drink!

After baths this evening we still had some time to kill before it was Jai's bedtime so he quickly made his way to the backyard.  That baby loves the outdoors.  Laila also loves it outside and has to be gently then strongly coerced back indoors.  I don't blame them, it is just so much more fun than being inside!

Jai sneaking outside after dinner!  The boy has no shame!

Laila on Arjun's shoulders giving our neighbors high fives!  The are the sweetest kids!

Jai completely clean and trying to correct that immediately.

The boy is teething, but I think using the dogs toys is just a little too much!

Day 80 - Sore thumb

This evening when I was making dinner (which was excellent!) I did quite a number on my thumb.  I was just finishing all my prep work and went to wash my newly sharped knife when I sliced my thumb open!  It hurt like heck and it took all my self control not to curse like crazy in front of the kids.

After dinner and the kids were in bed Manik convinced me to go to an Emergicare.  With reluctance I went but am glad I did.  Luckily I didn't need stitches but got tetanus shot just in case.  The doctor put a few steri strips on and wrapped it up well.  The upside to the whole ordeal is that I am not supposed to get my thumb wet for 24 hours, so that means I get out of doing dishes for a whole day!

Day 79 - Baby Wilder

Little Wilder came over for a few hours today.  He is growing so fast and I swear he looks different every time I see him!

Laila loves Wilder, and was very excited to see that he had come to visit her after her nap!

Mostly though she just loves his car seat!  She loves putting her Baby in there and bucking and unbuckling her :)

Jai wasn't so sure about Wilder, he definitely wasn't happy that Mama was holding someone else and not him.  Jai Jai is definitely a Mama's Boy!

Day 78 - Holi and pics while I was gone

I am soooo happy to be back home with my family!  I missed everyone so much.  It was a blast to be with my friends but I missed my babies and am so thankful that I am home safe and sound!  While I was gone Manik kept me updated with pics, so I thought I would share the great pictures he sent me!

Manik's parents celebrated Holi , which is a Spring festival celebrated by Hindu's.  It looks like they wonderful time, I wish we were with them!

Still in love after 38 years!

Jai Jai has started taking walks by himself and his blankie.  This picture bears a strong resemblence to Linus from Charlie Brown!  Jai loves two things very much....his blankie and his thumb, just like Little Linus!

This was taken yesterday on Jai's birthday.  Manik dressed Jai and Laila in their birthday shirts, so precious!  Also, this picture was not staged, Laila begged Manik to move the carseats to the middle of the room and then they both took their appropriate seat!  Of course the peace only lasted a few short seconds before all heck broke loose!

Day 77 - Girls Night Out and my beautiful neices

This morning I went and visited my two nieces!  I can't get over how much Marin how grown and Miss Jillian is an expert bike rider!  I was super impressed with her mad skills!  Seriously though, it was so nice getting to spend some time with my brother and his wife, I miss them both very much and wish we all lived closer.  This afternoon we had lunch and then a some shopping in the Plaza and a wonderful dinner with my favorite girls!  After dinner we hit the town and the girls got down with did some serious dancing!
